Black Sesame Mochi with Kinako









Sesame seeds are believed to be one of the worlds' first spices. The earlier record use of sesame as a spice can be traced to an Assyrian Legend, which claimed that the gods drank sesame-based wine before creating the earth.

Black sesame seeds are an extremely good source of calcium, one gram of black sesame seeds contains approx. 85 miligrams of calcium. It also has high amount of protein, iron and phosphorous .

Some practitioners recommended using black sesame seeds with polygonum to keep a person's hair looking rich and dark.

hmmm........the mochi skin is blended with black sesame ground and sugar, wrapped with black sesame paste and dusted with kinako. Kinako is a powder that made up with yellow beans. A popular and wide variety usage thing in japanese cooking.
